Ceramics are important because they have been around thousands of years and have been made all over the world. Clay, the material for ceramics, is found all over the world.
Chances are, just like children from all different points in history and all over the world, you use ceramics in your daily life.
While the size, shape, glaze, decoration, and form can be unique, ceramics are designs that many people enjoy. Just as you can express yourself by making something out of clay, when you look at a ceramic you can ask: what was the person (potter / ceramist / painter / designer) trying to express when he or she made a specific ceramic?
Here is the DIVS: Children’s Space – Museum Treasure Hunt, find all the things on the list!
